Dr. Rungta serves as Assistant Professor at Boston University, MA. Furthermore, she is the Chief of Staff of VA Bedford Healthcare System, a role she was appointed to in May 2020.
Dr. Rungta received her medical degree, i.e., her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree, in 1998 at Padmashree Dr D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth in India. After serving a three-year residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Seth G.S Medical College and KEM Hospital (1999 – 2002), she relocated to the United States, where she completed a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan (2006 – 2010). Dr. Rungta performed a fellowship in cytopathology at Henry Ford Hospital (2011 – 2012), and a fellowship in breast pathology at the University of Michigan. In 2020, she obtained her Master of Business Administration degree with concentration in healthcare administration and management from the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business.
Dr. Rungta pursued her board-certification in clinical and anatomical pathology with the American Board of Pathology (ABPath). The American Board of Pathology (ABPath) is one of 24 member boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties.The American Board of Pathology administers two “primary examinations”: one examination in anatomic pathology and one in clinical pathology, where candidates pursuing combined certification are required to take both. She is additionally board-certified in cytopathology.
