Get to know Internist Dr. Leila Youssef, who serves patients in Arlington, Virginia.

A specialist in the field of internal medicine in practice since 2002, Dr. Youssef is a part of the professional team at Beauregard Medical Center.

Beauregard Medical Center encompasses internal medicine and primary care doctors in Alexandria, Virginia. They are equipped to handle a comprehensive range of urgent medical conditions and injuries, routine illnesses, and general medical services. 

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after she earned her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University in Egypt in 1987. She then relocated to the United States, performing her internship and residency in internal medicine at Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri in 1991 and 1992, respectively. She also completed an additional residency at Huntington Memorial Hospital in 1993.

Subsequent to her education, Dr. Youssef attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Licensed to practice medicine in Virginia, she is affiliated with Virginia Hospital Center. 

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

In honor of her clinical expertise, Dr. Youssef is the recipient of Patients’ Choice Award (2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2018), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2011, 2012, 2015), and On-Time Doctor Award (2018).

On a more personal note, she is fluent in both English and Arabic.
