Get to know Otolaryngologist/Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. N. Ricky Sayal, who serves patients throughout the State of Michigan.
Dr. Sayal is a board-certified, double-fellowship trained otolaryngology/facial plastic surgeon at ENT Specialists, P.C., operating out of the offices in Novi, Brighton, and Farmington Hills, Michigan. He provides comprehensive care in the diagnosis and treatment of ears, nose, and throat conditions of all ages.
He practices general ENT including treatment of hearing, ear infections, voice disorders, parotid surgery, thyroid surgery, nasal congestion, allergies, and sinusitis. He has extensive experience in the treatment of nasal and sinus disorders with minimally invasive procedures such as balloon sinuplasty.
Specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery procedures, Dr. Sayal performs rhinoplasty, face and neck lift, facial implants, eyelid lift, and brow lift. He also provides nonsurgical facial rejuvenation options, including laser skin resurfacing, relaxers to smooth lines and wrinkles, and fillers to restore volume. Furthermore, he has a strong interest in skin cancer care, from diagnosis to treatment, and reconstructive facial plastic surgery to restore his patients’ appearance following MOHS surgery.
The doctor’s hospital affiliations include Beaumont Farmington Hills, Beaumont Royal Oak, St. Joseph Mercy Brighton Health Center, Novi Surgery Center, Providence Park Hospital, and St. Joseph Livingston Hospital.
Since 2018, he has also been serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, teaching otolaryngology education to MSU students and residents, as well as mentoring students through email/phone.
Academically, Dr. Sayal graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2009, where he was consistently at the top of his class. Prior to medical school, he completed his undergraduate work at the University of Michigan.
After completing his internship in general surgery and his residency in otolaryngology/facial Plastic surgery at Beaumont Hospital, his passion for facial reconstruction motivated him to advance his training with a head and neck/reconstructive surgery fellowship at Nebraska Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center. He then pursued a yearlong fellowship in facial plastic surgery under the mentorship of Ross A. Clevens, MD, FACS at Clevens Center for Facial Plastic Surgery, where he refined his cosmetic and facial reconstructive skills.
Some of the academic courses that Dr. Sayal has taken include Dallas Rhinoplasty Course (2020), Palette Facial Cosmetic Injectables Course (2019), AO Facial Trauma Course (2018), AAOA Advanced Course in Allergy and Immunology (2017), AAOA Basic Course in Allergy and Immunology (2017), University of Iowa Advanced Head and Neck Course (2016), Detroit Cosmetics Bootcamp – Injectable Fillers Course (2015, 2016), Michigan Ear Institute Temporal Bone Dissection Course (2015), University of Miami Advanced Rhinology Course (2015), University of Michigan Essential Skills Airway Course (2015), and Iowa Head and Neck Basic Science Course (2014).
Among his various achievements, he is board-certified through the American Osteopathic Boards of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, a joint organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the eye (ophthalmologists) and to qualified DOs who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the ears, nose, and throat (otolaryngologists).
Holding a Controlled Substance License through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Board of Pharmacy, he has also earned certifications in Basic and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.

Otolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. Otolaryngologists, also known as ear, nose, and throat doctors, specialize in disorders of the head and neck, ranging from hearing loss to cancer.
Passionate about using his skills to serve the community, Dr. Sayal has served as a volunteer physician with Oral Cancer Health Screening in Omaha, Nebraska, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Farmington Hills, Michigan from 2015 until 2019. His responsibilities included educating members of the local community regarding oral cancer, and providing ears, nose, throat physical screening and examination for oral cancer.
In 2014, he was a volunteer physician with DO Care Medical Mission, providing basic physical examinations and preventative health education to an underserved community in Antigua, Guatemala. Prior to that, he was a student doctor volunteer for the Special Olympics in Flint, Michigan, giving full physicals and developmental evaluations to children with special needs.
From 2006 until 2009, Dr. Sayal served as a mentor for autistic children as part of the Son-Rise Program. He mentored autistic children through interactive play with energy and enthusiasm, as well as created lessons and activities for volunteers to help design games to enhance children’s learning.
When he is not helping patients, he enjoys working out, watching movies, playing tennis, golfing, traveling, hiking, and photography. His favorite place to vacation is Santorini, Greece.
On a more personal note, he is fluent in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
