Can you straighten your teeth with periodontal disease?
Depends on the extent of the periodontal disease and how well its controlled. Yes, I have straightened teeth with periodontal disease, but I have a plan for stabilization and retention before treatment starts. In some cases it's an intermediate step to more advanced restorative procedures like implants. READ MORE
Lesions on mouth?
Clinical examination in person is the key to diagnosis and treatment. I can tell you that the lesions in the photos resemble herpetic vesicles scattered along the track of the posterior palatal nerve, but this is not a diagnosis. Can surgery fix periodontitis?
Periodontitis is CONTROLLED with appropriate home care first, the debridement and medications then surgery if still necessary, then maintenance appointments usually at 3-month intervals. Hope this helps. There is no "cure", just control. READ MORE
Can crooked front teeth be fixed with veneers?
I fix them with veneers but the best results are Invisalign followed by veneers, that way the roots are straight and there is a better esthetic result. READ MORE
How do you treat pericoronitis?
Repeated pericoronitis responds to home care, antimicrobial rinses, antibiotics, surgical opening of the flap around the tooth, or in many cases removing the (usually) wisdom tooth responsible. READ MORE
How strong is a zirconia crown?
Stronger than porcelain fused to metal crowns. They rarely chip or break in use. READ MORE

Can you have a general anesthetic for dental implants?
Outpatient sedation for dental implants is commonly done with benzodiazepines or similar, using oral or IV administration. General anesthesia has many more risks and is usually reserved for a hospital setting using intubation. Unless there is a medical necessity or major oral surgery it is not done for a few implants since there is a higher level of risk involved with the general anesthetic procedure. READ MORE

Requirements for any dental surgery include local anesthetic. Options include conscious sedation, deep sedation, and general anesthesia. Can I swallow my saliva after using bactidol?
There is not a lot of toxicity information on Bactidol (Hexatidine). There are cautions for use in pregnancy (embryotoxic) and possible allergy, but could not find much appropriate research. READ MORE
