Born in New York City, Dr. Stern attended the City University of New York, where he was part of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1977. He served as a dentist in the U.S. Navy in the Philadelphia Regional Dental Center from 1977 until 1979, before relocating to Michigan with his wife in 1981.
In January of 1995, he received a United States Patent for a method to fabricate dental crowns. A dental crown is a tooth-shaped “cap” that is placed over a tooth in order to restore its shape, size, and strength, as well as to improve its appearance.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
In his spare time, Dr. Stern enjoys sailing, listening to music, traveling to see natural and man-made wonders, as well as spending time with his family.
