At his family-friendly dental practice in Southfield, Michigan, he remains dedicated to providing the best dentistry in a caring, relaxing environment. He and his staff believe that treating the mouth as a whole is essential to improving patients’ quality of life. To achieve this goal, they create an affordable dental experience for every patient, combining state-of-the-art dental technology with care and compassion. They also coordinate care with sleep clinics to provide oral appliances to treat snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.

Born in New York City, Dr. Stern attended the City University of New York, where he was part of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1977. He served as a dentist in the U.S. Navy in the Philadelphia Regional Dental Center from 1977 until 1979, before relocating to Michigan with his wife in 1981. 

In January of 1995, he received a United States Patent for a method to fabricate dental crowns. A dental crown is a tooth-shaped “cap” that is placed over a tooth in order to restore its shape, size, and strength, as well as to improve its appearance.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.

In his spare time, Dr. Stern enjoys sailing, listening to music, traveling to see natural and man-made wonders, as well as spending time with his family.
