A board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Silbret brings her sophisticated clinical and surgical skills, scientific in depth understanding of human skin, as well as her compassionate care to her private practice in Manalapan, New Jersey. Together with her colleague Dr. Alan Schechter, her office strives to provide comprehensive care and excellence in cosmetic, medical, and surgical dermatology.
Before coming to New Jersey, she practiced in New York City at offices on Park Avenue and in Soho. Her subspecialty within the field of cosmetic dermatology is facial sculpting with the use of fillers and Botox.
Pertaining to her educational background, Dr. Silbret attended The University of Pennsylvania for her undergraduate education, and graduated as part of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where she received her medical degree. She was also awarded the prestigious Janet E. Glasgow award for Achievement of Women In Medicine and the International Health Fellowship Award.
After graduating medical school, she completed her medical internship at The New York Hospital of Cornell University Medical Center, and furthered her clinical experience at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. At the Montefiore/Einstein Medical Center, she was chosen to be Chief Resident of her dermatology residency program.
Recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the doctor is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, which is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, Dr. Silbret has also been active in dermatological research. At the Rockefeller University, she assisted in the investigation of melanoma skin cancer and has presented her clinical research in pediatric dermatology at the New York Dermatologic Society.
Lastly, she was part of a volunteer effort in Namibia, Africa, where she helped to start a medical educational program at a local school, worked in a medical clinic, and was a member of a general surgical team that performed operations at outlying small villages.
