Get to know Anesthesiologist Dr. Mikhail Chernov, who serves patients in Sebring, Florida.

An experienced anesthesiologist, Dr. Chernov is the Director of the Department of Anesthesiology at AdventHealth Sebring.

Originally from Russia, he received his medical degree from the Russian State Medical University in 1980. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in anesthesiology at the SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in 1997. 

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in anesthesiology through the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). 

Over the following 25 years, Dr Chernov was functioning at the capacity of a Clinical Site Director at two major healthcare institutions in New York – Mount Sinai Medical Center and Montefiore Medical Center. In 2021 Dr. Chernov received the title of an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, they measure the patient’s respiration.

On a more personal note, Dr. Chernov is fluent in both English and Russian.
