Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Sanjeev K. Shroff, who serves patients in Orlando, Florida.

A board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Shroff joined the Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute in 2001. His clinical interests include IIB/IIIA inhibitors in acute coronary syndromes and collateral circulation development, level-three echocardiography, diagnostic catheterizations, nuclear cardiology and stress echocardiography.

Academically, Dr. Shroff earned his medical degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he also completed his internship and residency in internal medicine. He then completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Maryland College of Medicine in Baltimore.

In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Remaining up to date in his field, he is an active member of the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
