What is the best way to treat wrinkles around my eyes?
There are many great options for treating wrinkles around your eyes depending on the cause: 1. Botulinum toxin (Botox, Dyport, Xeomin) are helpful for wrinkles due to skin creasing from muscle movement. Each time your skin creases with movement, you break down collagen and the wrinkles get deeper. If you stop the movement, your skin is allowed to rest and in turn builds new collagen. Botulinum toxin safely treats and prevents wrinkles. 2. Filler: A hyaluronic acid filler can fill the deep wrinkles and hollowing around the eyes. 3. Laser: I like to use a fractionated CO2 laser to tighten and smooth the skin of the upper and lower eyelids. Many times, I find my patients need all 3 of these treatments for the best results.
