Born in Puerto Rico and raised in between New Jersey and Puerto Rico, he attended the Universidad Tecnológica de Santiago in the Dominican Republic on a basketball and volleyball scholarship and with the help of his amazing grandmother who raised him. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree and his medical degree, he went to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, affiliated with Mount Sinai School of Medicine, to complete his residency in adult psychiatry, as well as child & adolescent psychiatry.
After completing his residency, he joined the United States Air Force and was the Medical Director of Eglin Air Force Base’s Mental Health Clinic. At Eglin, Dr. Pichardo was responsible for treating the active duty service men and women and the dependents on base as well. After he separated from the Air Force in 2016, he joined Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital, where he treats adults and children who suffer from a variety of psychiatric disorders.
The doctor is board-certified in psychiatry, with added qualification in child & adolescent psychiatry and addiction psychiatry, by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.
