Dr. Zamel completed his medical degree from Baghdad University College of Medicine. After obtaining his Medical Degree, Dr. Zamel completed a residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and a Fellowship at Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson. Dr. Lorenze currently practices with American Heart Center, PC, and is affiliated with Bayshore Medical Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Reiverview Medical Center. Within American Heart Center, PC he works as a Interventional Cardiologist. Interventional Cardiology represents advanced training in cardiovascular disease and focuses on the invasive (usually catheter-based) management of heart disease. Clinical issues usually managed by interventional cardiologists include: Ischemic heart disease (percutaneous coronary intervention (angioplasty), stent placement, coronary thrombectomy), Valve disease (valvuloplasty, percutaneous valve repair or replacement), and Congenital heart abnormalities (repair of atrial and ventricular septal defects, closure of patent ductus arteriosus, angioplasty of the great vessels).
