Get to know Family Physician Dr. Jennifer Sheffield, who serves patients in Breckenridge, Minnesota. 

Dr. Sheffield is a diligent family physician providing care for CHI St. Francis Health, a 25-bed critical access hospital and nursing home located in Breckenridge, Minnesota. She has experience in family medicine, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, adult health, women’s health, dermatology, allergies, and urgent care.

From 2012-2019, she practiced at a rural critical access hospital doing ER, hospital, clinic, and nursing home care. She provides inpatient and outpatient treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Started at St. Francis in 2019 until present, doing hospital, urgent care and nursing home care. 

In 2006, Dr. Sheffield graduated with her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. She then went on to perform her residency in family medicine at UND Center for Family Medicine.

A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, she is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility. 

Residing in Wahpeton, North Dakota, Dr. Sheffield enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on medical missions, learning history, traveling, crocheting, and photography. She has a dog, Finnegan.
