Get to know Cardiologist, Dr. Hugo G. Garcia, who serves patients in Miami, Florida

Dr. Garcia is a board-certified cardiologist practicing at Sunset Cardiology in Miami, Florida. Furthermore, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida, and holds hospital privileges at Kendall Regional Medical Center, South Miami Hospital, and Baptist Hospital of Miami in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Garcia is a 1976-graduate of The University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. His postgraduate training includes his internal medicine residency (1976 – 1979), as well as his cardiovascular disease medicine fellowship (1979 – 1981) conducted at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida.

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The American Board of Internal Medicine is a 501 nonprofit, self-appointed physician-evaluation organization that certifies physicians practicing internal medicine and its subspecialties.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology.

Dr. Gracia  attained the coveted title of Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). He was also listed among Top Doctors in South Florida (2012) and Top Doctors in Florida (2000) by Castle Connolly.
