Dr. David Straker MD
Psychiatrist | Psychiatry
850 Park Avenue 1E New York NY, 10075About
I am a Columbia trained, Board Certified Psychiatrist with a subspecialty board certification in Psychosomatic Medicine. I feel that the combination of psychotherapy and psychiatric medication work the best in helping patients struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other mental illnesses. I am a psychotherapist and a psychopharmacologist having had extensive training in both after completing my general psychiatry residency training. I enjoy helping others and playing an active role in their life and treatment. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to do the work that I do. I have been in private practice for 12 years. I completed my training at Long Island Jewish Hospital where I was a two-time Chief Resident and my Fellowship at NYPH-Columbia. I am on staff at Lenox Hill, NYPH-Columbia, White Plains Hospital and North Shore-LIJ. I am one of the first clinicians in the field to perform Genetic Saliva Testing (Personalized Medicine) to my patients. I administer this innovative test in my office. I have office hours in Manhattan Monday-Thursday and am at White Plains Hospital on Fridays. I am Board Certified in Psychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine.
