Recognized as a leading expert in pain management, Dr. Sparks proudly operates her private practice, Lighthouse Healing, located on the beautiful island of Kaua’i. A graduate with honors from Case Western Reserve University in 1999, her interest in pain medicine was piqued early in her career during research with a pediatric oncologist. Witnessing the struggles of patients in pain, she resolved to make a difference. This dedication led her to Ohio University for medical school, followed by specialized training in Anesthesiology and Pain Management at the Cleveland Clinic, culminating in her completion in 2009.
After serving as an Assistant Professor at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth for three years, Dr. Sparks transitioned to private practice, where she continues to advocate for patients suffering from chronic pain. Her involvement with various organizations, including Women In Neuromodulation, underscores her commitment to promoting gender equity and innovation in the field of pain management.
With over three years of service on the Special Planning Committee for the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS), she has been instrumental in shaping the future of pain management practices. Her contributions extend beyond committee work; she has authored numerous chapters and journal articles, sharing her insights on critical topics within the field. Her work is frequently featured in the NANS newsletter, highlighting her commitment to disseminating valuable knowledge to her peers.
