With nearly three decades of experience in behavioral health care, Nizam-Uddin Khaja, MD, FAPA, FASAM, is a board-certified psychiatrist and addiction medicine specialist dedicated to improving the lives of patients aged 18 and older.
At Willowbrooke Psychiatric Center in Villa Rica, Georgia, Dr. Khaja offers comprehensive services, including psychiatric evaluations, psychotherapy, medication management, and interventional treatments tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. Dr. Khaja earned his Medical Degree from Siddhartha Medical College in Vijayawada, India, in 1987. Pursuing further training, he relocated to the United States, where he completed his internship and residency in psychiatry at East Tennessee State University/Quillen College of Medicine from 1994 to 1998. His extensive training and diverse clinical experiences have equipped him with a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and addiction.
Board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in addiction medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine, Dr. Khaja has continually demonstrated his commitment to excellence in the field. He is also a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
Having held significant academic and clinical leadership roles, Dr. Khaja has served as a clinical associate professor at the Medical College of Georgia’s northwest campus in Rome. Additionally, he has contributed to the recovery and wellness of countless individuals as the medical director and chief medical officer at Highland Rivers Health’s Polk Recovery and Wellness Center in Cedartown.
