Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Dalia Ibrahim, who serves patients in Laguna Hills, California. 

Dr. Ibrahim is a gastroenterologist who is board-certified in both gastroenterology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Currently, she is serving patients at the Gastroenterology & Digestive Health Center in Laguna Hills, California. There, she practices alongside Dr. Rose T. Codini, MD. The two have more than 30 years of combined experience in digestive wellness and the treatment of digestive system disorders. Both doctors have taken extraordinary measures to ensure that each patient receives premium and personable care by employing a highly qualified medical staff and using state-of-the-art medical equipment for accuracy, patient safety, and patient comfort. They remain at the forefront of colon cancer screening, performing over 2,000 colonoscopies per year.

After graduating from UCLA in 2000, Dr. Ibrahim went on to graduate with her Medical Degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She continued on with her internship, residency, and fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Georgetown University Medical Center. After finishing her fellowship training, she moved back to Orange County with her family where she was born and raised, and began operating in private practice. 

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, intestines, and biliary system. 

In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. Ibrahim’s primary areas of interest include inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, as well as women’s health in gastroenterology. “Gastroenterology is a diverse and exciting specialty that deals with multiple complex systems of the body. I appreciate that when I see patients, I have the opportunity to truly cure them of their disease. I also have the privilege of preventing cancer on a daily basis, which is truly rewarding. I am able to develop lifelong relationships with patients and their families and am honored to be part of this noble profession.” she stated.

In her personal life, she is the mother of two daughters, and enjoys family time with them either at the park or at the beach. In her spare time, she jogs for fun on a regular basis. During the winter, she loves to snowboard.
