Get to know Internist Dr. Florencio E. Yuzon, who serves patients in Ohio.

Dr. Yuzon is a board-certified internist who is affiliated with Mercy Health — Allen Hospital (Oberlin, Ohio) and Mercy Health — Lorain Hospital (Lorain, Ohio). Mercy Health — Allen Hospital.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Yuzon earned his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to complete his internship at St. Mary’s Hospital, followed by his residency in internal medicine at Westchester Medical Center in New York. He also completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), Dr. Yuzon holds board certification in internal medicine with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine, like Dr. Yuzon, are called internists. With a wide range of expertise in his field, he has earned several awards throughout his extensive career, including Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018), On-Time Doctor Award (2018), and Patients’ Choice Award (2018).
