Proper sitting posture is essential. Make sure you keep your back supported while sitting and if possible take a standing break after sitting for 30 min. What exercises can my mom do to relieve her back pain?
Back pain can be caused due to several reasons. She needs to visit an orthopedic doctor. Back imaging me be necessary to diagnose the pathology. There are different exercises for back but she needs to find out the cause of back pain first so that proper medical management can be provided. Make sure she is maintaining good posture when she sits up and additional support may be provided with use of pillows for her low back. Avoid bending, twisting, prolonged sitting, standing and walking at this time. Take rest. Hot/cold packs may be beneficial. READ MORE

I get a pain in my lower back when I sit. How can I reduce the pain?
Proper sitting posture is the key to prevent aches and pains. I recommended using a back support/ pillow to prevent slouching. Sitting for long hours like you do at your job makes your muscles of your hip and knee tight which in long run starts affecting your back. I recommend stretching exercises and good core strengthening exercises. You might want to see a physical therapist to show you proper form of doing these exercises. I hope that helps! READ MORE
