Dr. Crawford is a board-certified internist who is currently a part of the team of professionals at IMAP Medical Clinic of Plano and Frisco in Texas.

Having been practicing since 1997, she has been in private practice, and has served as a hospitalist in the Dallas/Ft Worth area.

Academically, Dr. Crawford attended medical school at the University of Missouri School of Medicine-Columbia, completing her medical degree in 1994. She then performed her residency at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

While doing her residency, she had the privilege of doing research in cardiovascular disease at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Furthermore, she received the Humanitarian Award in residency, as well as became nationally recognized as an Outstanding Young Woman of America, in recognition of outstanding professional achievement, superior leadership ability, and exceptional service to community.

In college, Dr. Crawford attended the University of Kentucky. During her studies, she organized health fairs and blood drives, as well as volunteered at the community kitchen, which enlightened her perspective on health issues.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, she was awarded as an Outstanding College Student of America, and was accepted as a Life Member of The National Registry of Who’s Who.

Having learned and appreciated a different aspect to medicine as a registered nurse, Dr. Crawford is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

Having grown up in a small town of Benton, Kentucky, Dr. Crawford is a sports fan, especially of University of Kentucky basketball. She also enjoys football and baseball. She received those attributes from her dad.

Growing up on a farm, she was inspired by her mom and dad’s hard work and dedication. Both her parents taught her about faith, love, and family as a guide in life. To illustrate this, Dr. Crawford sees herself as a helper in the overall healing process with her patients, while acknowledging the hand of God as the true, ultimate healer.

Outside of practicing medicine, she enjoys playing sports with her son. She is married and lives in Lewisville. She is an active member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano.
