Get to know Allergist and Immunologist Dr. Asriani M. Chiu, who serves patients in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Being an established allergist and immunologist, Dr. Chiu is committed to providing excellent and compassionate patient care in the field of allergy and clinical immunology. She has been on staff at Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee since 1997, seeing patients of all ages.
Because asthma and allergic diseases greatly affect patients’ and their family’s quality of life, Dr. Chiu believes that the best way to take care of patients is through knowledge of the most up-to-date diagnostic tools and treatment, and partnering together with them to help identify, treat, and ultimately control their allergic conditions.
Alongside her clinical role as medical director of the Asthma and Allergy Clinic at Children’s Wisconsin, she is a Professor of Allergy and Immunology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She was the Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Training Program Director for 12 years. She is also the section chief of allergy at the Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. Her areas of interest include asthma, allergic diseases, and immunodeficiencies.
A 1992 graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Chiu went on to complete her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in allergy and immunology at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals in 1995 and 1997, respectively.
Committed to her specialty, she is board-certified through the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, which establishes qualifications and examines physicians to become recognized specialists in allergy and immunology. It is a conjoint board of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics.
Furthermore, she is board-certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Active in allergy and immunology organizations (regionally and nationally), Dr. Chiu is the Medical Director of the ALA Asthma Camp in Milwaukee, and also volunteers with a central city primary care clinic as an asthma specialist.
In direct affiliation with her field, she is a member of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (Fellow), the American College of Physicians (Fellow), the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (Fellow), and the Clinical Immunology Society.

These conditions range from the very common to the very rare, spanning all ages and encompassing various organ systems. An allergist and immunologist is a physician specially trained to diagnose, treat, and manage allergies, asthma, and immunologic disorders, including primary immunodeficiency.
