Get to know Dentist Dr. Alexander J. Pilavsky, who serves patients in Newburgh, New York.

Dr. Pilavsky is a dentist who is listed in the Consumer Research Council of America’s Guide to America’s Top Dentists. He is the co-owner of Newburgh Dental Group – a dental practice located in Newburgh, New York. Although the practice’s focus is on general dentistry, patients can also benefit from a range of cosmetic, family and restorative dentistry options. From smile makeovers and teeth whitening, to restorative dentistry and Invisalign®, Newburgh Dental Group is focused towards giving patients the best possible cosmetic result. Our practices have an Endodontist (Root canal specialist), Periodontist (Gum specialist) and an Oral Surgeon on staff in order to provide highest quality dental care to patients.

Dr. Pilavsky obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD). While completing his DDS, he served in leadership roles in two NYUCD continuing education seminars, served as a teaching assistant for first-year dental students, as well as participated in NYUCD’s Dental Outreach Programs in Honduras and Nicaragua. Dr. Pilavsky then went on to complete his general practice residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, after which he joined dental teams of two private practices serving Manhattan, where he practiced for over 10 years.

Dr. Pilavsky is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Laser Dentistry.. He is also a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). The ICOI is a tax-exempt, non-profit professional association that renders education, holds seminars and meetings, and encourages research work regarding implantology.  

Dr. Pilavsky is certified by the North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners, Inc. He is an Invisalign® Preferred Provider and is proficient in laser dentistry (hard- and soft-tissue lasers).  

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists, like Dr. Pilavsky, focus on providing comprehensive dental care to patients throughout every phase of their lives. They also promote oral health awareness.

Dr. Pilavsky attributes his success to his interpersonal skills. He is fluent in both Russian and English and has some knowledge of French and Spanish. In his spare time, he enjoys relaxing, skiing, and spending time with his family.
