Fairfield Primary Doctors, run by Dr. Shirish Bhatt and Dr. Rupal Bhatt, has been committed to providing the highest quality health care and medical services possible to adults throughout the community. The mission of the practice is to provide state-of-the-art, compassionate primary care for young families and the geriatric community, while ensuring each patient’s visit is a pleasurable and comfortable experience.
Born and raised in Chicago, Dr. Bhatt attended the University of Wisconsin and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Medical Science. He then went on to attend the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he obtained his medical degree in 1994. He returned to Chicago for his residency at Loyola University Medical Center, where he spent three years becoming a specialist in internal medicine. After moving to New Jersey in 1999, he taught medical residents and medical students at hospitals affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
After teaching medical residents for four years in New York, Dr. Bhatt returned to New Jersey and founded the medical practice in Fairfield. Adding to his experience, he remained the primary medical consultant for the world famous Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, New Jersey from 2003 till 2007. His skills in joint and stroke rehabilitation grew as he developed a special interest in helping patients with prosthetic limbs. In 2009, he furthered his training at the Langone NYU Medical Center by becoming a Certified Wound Care Consultant.
Among the doctor’s various professional accolades, he is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
