A determined hematopathologist, Dr. Jaso is an Associate Professor of Pathology and Director of the Hematopathology Fellowship Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Graduated with his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2006, Dr. Jaso completed his residency in anatomic & clinical pathology at the UT Health Science Center at Houston in 2012. He then went on to complete two consecutive fellowships in hematopathology and advanced hematopathology at the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2013 and 2014, respectively.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathology (FASCP), the doctor is board-certified in anatomic & clinical pathology and hematopathology by the American Board of Pathology. It is one of 24 member boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Continuously advancing his efforts, he is an active member of the International Clinical Cytometry Society, the Society for Hematology Education, the American Society of Hematology, and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.

Hematopathology or hematopathology is the study of diseases and disorders affecting and found in blood cells, their production, and any organs and tissues involved in hematopoiesis, such as bone marrow, the spleen, and the thymus. Hematopathologists are highly trained healthcare providers who specialize in diseases of the blood and blood components. These include blood and bone marrow cells. Among his various accolades, Dr. Jaso has been the recipient of the Vernie A. Stembridge Clinical Pathology Resident Teaching Award for Pathology resident teaching (2018), and the Helen Chu Wagner Award for Outstanding Performance by a Resident in the Field of Pathology.
