Dr. Warkala’s interest in podiatry grew out of running track and cross country in high school and college. He was treated by a podiatrist for a running injury in high school and that sparked his interest in the field. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at the State University of New York at Binghampton and his podiatric education at Temple University of Podiatry in Philadelphia, PA. He went on to complete a Residency in Podiatric Surgery at Lakeview Hospital in Wisconsin. In November 1987, Dr. Warkala went into private practice in Washington Township, NJ. He continues to be active in the community that he works in as a member of the Rotary Club. He also stays involved in the medical community, serving as President of the New Jersey Podiatric Society from 2002-2003 and holding a number of other positions within the society, currently in charge of Continuing Education. In addition, the doctor holds staff privileges at Kennedy Memorial Hospitals, and has been the Extern Director there for a number of years. He is also currently the Director of the Residency program for Foot and Ankle Surgery at Kennedy Memorial Hospitals.
