A knowledgeable family physician, Dr. Gaal joined the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UNLV Health as faculty in 2011, practicing full scope family medicine clinically in the outpatient and inpatient settings. His interests center on musculoskeletal ultrasound and the use of regenerative medicine to aid in acute injury management.

UNLV Health is a multi-specialty practice with over 350 employees, and 7 locations with 151 providers. It combines education and research within the treatment environment, and manages the faculty clinical practice. Educated in the United States, Dr. Gaal earned his medical degree from the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He then went on to further his training by completing his residency in family medicine at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, and his fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

Among his other roles, he holds positions as the Interim Head Team Physician, UNLV Division 1 Athletics, and Program Director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship within the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. He is also the Primary Care Sports Medicine Team Physician for the Las Vegas Aces Women’s National Basketball League, and a consulting physician for the Las Vegas Golden Knights National Hockey League.
