Get to know General Pediatrician Dr. Alice E. Wilson, who serves patients in Marietta, Georgia.

Dr. Wilson is a general pediatrician who is currently serving patients at Cumberland Pediatrics, which has been a part of the Metro Atlanta community since 1991. The pediatricians at Cumberland Pediatrics specialize in the care of children from newborns through adolescence. It is their belief that raising a healthy, emotionally stable child is the hardest job a parent will ever have. That being said, they aim to provide assistance and care with “on the job training.”

Dr. Wilson has over 30 years of pediatric practice experience. After 7 years of owning her own pediatric practice in Milledgeville, Georgia, she relocated to Atlanta to be closer to her family.

Dr. Wilson served as an assistant professor of pediatrics at the Texas Tech Health Sciences University and as a clinical professor at the Walter Reed Army Hospital.

Dr. Wilson is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The ABP is an independent, nonprofit organization whose certificate is recognized throughout the world as a credential signifying a high level of physician competence. Furthermore, Dr. Wilson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). The FAAP designation may only be used by AAP members in good standing who have obtained initial board certification in pediatrics or a surgical specialty board. Physicians who maintain their FAAP designation make an ongoing commitment to lifelong learning and advocacy for children.

Dr. Wilson received her Bachelor of Science degree from Spelman College. Wanting to further her education, she went on to receive her medical degree from the Emory University School of Medicine and remained at Emory to complete her residency in pediatrics.

Dr. Wilson is involved in numerous community service projects, including one very dear to her heart – mentoring pre-med students at Spelman College.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. As a pediatrician, Dr. Wilson feels it is very important to build long-lasting bonds with patients and their families.
