A well-versed reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Beltsos is the CEO and Chief Medical Officer of Vios Fertility Institute. She is a popular speaker, both nationally and internationally, and a frequent media resource on the topic of infertility. She is also part of the Clinical Research team at Vios and participates in a number of research projects and scientific publications.

Vios Fertility Institute are a rapidly growing network of fertility clinics throughout the state of Illinois with a strong emphasis on empathetic, patient-centric care. Alongside her position with the leading Vios Fertility Institute, Dr. Beltsos is the Executive Chairperson for the Midwest Reproductive Symposium International, an international conference of fertility experts. She also helps educate future OB/GYN doctors as the previous REI Division Education Director for the Obstetrics and Gynecology residency programs of Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Lutheran General Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital Chicago, and Mercy Chicago.
Continuing to mentor REI doctors as well as students of all stages of education, she is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Illinois at Chicago. Furthermore, she has medical privileges at many different hospitals, including Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Ambulatory Surgery Center of Downers Grove, Lake Forest Hospital, Northwest Community Hospital, Northwest Community Day Surgery, Northwest Surgicare, Same Day Surgery Network River North, St. Alexius Medical Center, and Swedish Covenant Hospital.
Regarding her educational background, Dr. Beltsos completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 1991. Shen then went on to do her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Loyola University Medical Center in 1995, followed by a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1997.
A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology & reproductive endocrinology and infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
Reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) is a surgical subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology that trains physicians in reproductive medicine addressing hormonal functioning as it pertains to the reproduction, as well as the issue of infertility. While most REI specialists primarily focus on the treatment of infertility, reproductive endocrinologists are trained to also evaluate and treat hormonal dysfunctions in females and males outside after the reproductive years.
Receiving numerous awards, Dr. Beltsos has been named as a “Top Doctor” by Castle Connolly (2001, 2002, 2003, 2011, 2016, 2018, 2019). She has also received the Patient’s Choice Award by Chicago Magazine in 2008 and 2009, Excellence in Teaching Award by Lutheran General Hospital in 2008, Teaching Award by Washington University in 1997, Resident of the Year at Loyola University in 1994, and Resident Teacher of the Year in 1991, 1992, 1993 and 1994.
