A highly skilled orthopedic surgeon with over 30 years of experience, Dr. Buchalter is an expert in hip and knee replacement surgery at South Palm Orthopedics in Delray Beach, Florida. Specializing in total hip replacement, direct anterior hip replacement, computer-assisted surgery, total knee replacement, partial knee replacement, and minimally invasive surgical techniques, he is committed to enhancing the quality of life for his patients.

He utilizes the direct anterior approach for total hip replacements, performed with precision using the Hana Table at both Delray Medical Center and Boca Raton Regional Hospital.

After graduating from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1983, he completed his residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City, one of the most prestigious orthopedic training hospitals in the United States. His commitment to excellence continued with specialized fellowship training in joint replacement surgery, sports medicine, and trauma surgery, bolstered by time spent studying advanced techniques in Europe, where he was involved in groundbreaking research on cartilage transplant and regeneration procedures.

As a board-certified orthopedic surgeon by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS), Dr. Buchalter is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in medical practice. The ABOS ensures the safe, ethical, and effective practice of orthopedic surgery through rigorous examination, certification, and ongoing maintenance of certification, benefiting the public and enhancing patient care.

Having served the South Florida community since 1991, he has held several prestigious positions, including Chief of Surgery at Delray Medical Center and Chairman of numerous hospital-based committees. Notably, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delray Medical Center for six years, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to improving patient care in the region.

Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Buchalter has successfully performed over 3,000 total hip and total knee replacements. He is a proud member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, an elite society consisting of less than 5% of orthopedic surgeons in the country who specialize in these procedures.

On a personal note, he resides in Boca Raton, Florida, with his family. His dedication to his profession is matched only by his passion for giving back to the community, providing his patients with the best possible care and innovative surgical options.
