Working extensively with professional, amateur and recreational athletes, he has been a Consultant Team Physician for the Florida Marlins since 1998 and is a Team Physician for Playball Baseball Academy.
Holding multiple patents in the orthopedic space, he is the Clinical Developer of the MakoSurgical Knee System, and the Founder of Orthosensor Inc. which develops advanced sensors for orthopedic applications to improve patient care. He has trained hundreds of surgeons on these applications and is extensively published in prominent orthopedic journals.
An Ireland native, Dr. Roche Jr. earned his medical degree at the National University of Ireland Cork Medical School in 1990. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1992 and 1996, respectively.
Evolving the art of knee surgery to a proven science, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and orthopedic knee surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
