Get to know Pediatric Dentist Dr. Carolina Thomas, who serves patients in Humble, Texas.

Dr. Carolina is a caring and compassionate pediatric dentist tending to patients at her private practice - Galactic Smiles Pediatric Dental Specialists - in Humble, Texas.

The mission of Galactic Smiles is to provide children with comprehensive dental care in a friendly, educational, and interactive environment that will build a healthy foundation for life-long oral health. Their compassionate, gentle, and respectful staff help their young patients feel happy and comfortable, making a trip to the dentist’s office an enjoyable experience that promotes a positive attitude toward oral hygiene.

In regards to her educational background, Dr. Carolina went to dental school at the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia, where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Her desire of moving forward in her career led her to start her post doctoral education with a residency in general practice, followed by specialized training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Puerto Rico. 

As a testament to her success, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the not-for-profit professional membership association representing the specialty of pediatric dentistry.

Before committing full time to Galactic Smiles, she was part of the medical staff of Texas Children's Hospital, one of the best pediatric hospitals in the nation, and an Associate Professor at the University of Texas School of Dentistry.

Pediatric dentistry is the branch of dentistry dealing with children from birth through adolescence. A pediatric dentist specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the dental problems of children from infancy to young adulthood. They usually care for special needs patients as well.

Dr. Carolina’s charisma, passion and devotion for what she does make her work of high quality, and her uniqueness is a reason why she was listed as one of America's Top Dentists (2014,2016,2017,2020), placing her among the nation’s most excellent dentists.

A native of Colombia, she is a sports lover and enjoys adventurous sports which keep her active and energized for what she loves the most, being a pediatric dentist. She loves Shakira’s music and is a big fan of the Rockets and the Astros.
