    Several factors determine the need to start dialysis like your mother exercise capacity,protein or Albumin level,other chemical like potassium and bicarbonate are not significantly out of range.kidney Failure also can cause pericarditis(inflammation in the membrane around the heart) and how your mother appetite is or she is loosing weight. Only her treating physician after taking,examining and after review of her most recent lab work can determine when dialysis need to be imitated.     Rising creatinine mean further loss of kidney function.there is several other lab test like potassium,bicarbonate,Albumin is important to make decision weather your mom need to initiate dialysis. When creatinine rise to this level patient has several other chemical abnormalities and associated symptoms that majority of patient need to start dialysis orders keep going.certainly people can die with complications of kidney failure.   • What is the cause of blood in the urine?

    There are several causes of blood in the urine some are benign like bladder or urinary tract infection, kidney stone, but polyps or tumor in the kidney and bladder can also cause blood in urine. Kidney injury, chronic inflammation in the kidney called glomerulonephritis can be associated with blood in urine. There are other systemic causes of blood in urine. First, you should see your family doctor who can run urine test and blood test to see if there is concern of bladder infection or kidney injury is the cause. Imaging like kidney US or CT scan of kidney can exclude kidney stone or kidney tumor or cyst. For bladder issue, a urologist may recommend cystoscopy, looking inside the bladder by scope.   • Can urine infection cause kidney failure?

    Typically, a urinary tract infection means a bladder infection and does not cause kidney failure. But if a urinary tract infection flares up and gets into the blood stream, then it can make a patient very sick. Infection can cause low BP, and low BP in itself can cause kidney tubular damage and kidney failure. Sometimes, UTI signifies a kidney infection rather than a bladder infection and can be more serious than just a bladder infection. Your healthcare provider can differentiate a bladder infection from a kidney infection and can treat you optimally so that it does not flare up and result in complications. Dr. Bashir’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 1990, when he graduated with his Medical Degree from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai, Elmhurst Hospital in New York. Pursuing advanced medical training, Dr. Bashir went on to undertake his fellowship training in Nephrology at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, followed by additional Nephrology training at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY affiliated with Albert Einstein University. He also completed a transplant rotation at Albert Einstein University Hospital in Bronx, NY, and Peritoneal Dialysis training and rotation at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Bashir is board certified in both Nephrology and Internal Medicine, has earned the coveted title of Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and remains a distinguished member of the American Society of Nephrology and the Renal Physicians Association. Featuring over two decades of experience as an Internist, and over 17 years as a practicing Nephrologist, he has a special expertise in hypertension, diabetes, dialysis, transplant management, and chronic kidney disease. He manage all aspects of nephrology and hypertension.
