Throughout his academic career, Dr. Papandreou earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his internship at the University of North Texas. He then went on to complete his residency at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and his fellowship at the Larkin Community Hospital Graduate Medical Education.
An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM). The AOBEM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of acutely ill patients with advanced cardiac life support, trauma, and the management of other life-threatening medical issues (emergency physicians).
As a board-certified physician, he has worked within the largest healthcare systems in South Florida in both trauma and community hospital settings, with a wide range of pathology exposure, and is currently a member of an independent physician group in St. Petersburg.
Before founding BayMed Aesthetics, Dr. Papandreou had the opportunity to practice emergency medicine at a 20 ED bed community hospital with 45,000 annual visits, designated psychiatric receiving facility as well as a Level I Trauma Center with over 100,000 annual visits. Although he spent most of his time at a smaller institution, he did enjoy shifts at the Trauma Center supervising medical students as well as residents in a more academic setting.
Aesthetic medicine is an inclusive term for specialties that focus on improving cosmetic appearance through the treatment of conditions including scars, skin laxity, wrinkles, moles, liver spots, excess fat, cellulite, unwanted hair, skin discoloration, and spider veins.
