Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Parag H. Chokshi, who serves patients in Sun City, Arizona.

Dr. Chokshi is a board-certified gastroenterologist who is affiliated with Sun City Endoscopy Center in Sun City, Arizona. Sun City Endoscopy Center is an outpatient endoscopic facility specializing in colorectal cancer screening and the treatment of various digestive diseases. 

Dr. Chokshi is also affiliated with Banner Boswell Hospital, Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center, Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, and Arizona Digestive Health. Arizona Digestive Health is committed to providing quality, expert care to patients in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology. The staff of board-certified physicians, consisting of 49 gastroenterologists and 3 pathologists, is located throughout the Valleys of Arizona. 

Dr. Chokshi earned his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in 1994. He then went on to complete his residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and his fellowship at the University of Texas/MD Anderson Cancer Center.

For Dr. Chokshi, his decision to pursue a career in medicine was a natural one. With an interest in science cultivated in his youth, he felt drawn to the field from a young age. Looking back, he recalls his decision to become a doctor while studying chemistry as an undergraduate at Cornell: “I wanted to do something to make a difference and I can’t imagine how I could have done anything else. I wanted to do research at first and so I majored in chemistry as an undergrad thinking I could work in a lab. I then became interested in medicine because it was a direct way of helping people.”

Dr. Chokshi is board-certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. Additionally, Dr. Chokshi is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Gastroenterology.

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, intestines, and biliary system. Dr. Chokshi has experience treating diarrhea, constipation, gastritis, anemia, acid reflux, stomach cancer, and colon polyps.
