Dr. Lee Ralph joined San Diego Sports Medicine & Family Health Center in 1997 after serving as a family physician at the Family Practice and Preventive Medicine Department of the University of California, San Diego. He graduated from Amherst College and the University of Virginia School of Medicine before completing his residency and fellowship training at UCSD. Dr. Ralph is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCSD School of Medicine and is board certified in family practice with added qualifications in sports medicine. He was a former president of the San Diego Academy of Family Physicians and is on the board of directors of the California Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Ralph has been voted among San Diego’s “Top Doctors” in family medicine and sports medicine by his peers through the San Diego County Medical Society. Dr. Ralph was just inducted as the president of the California Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP), a coveted and honorable position for family practitioners in the state of California. CAFP has a membership of over 10,000 physicians in California, and is the largest chapter of the AAFP, the national organization. The CAFP is dedicated to improving the quality of family practice by educating physicians as well as to working with the government to optimize legislation.
