Dr. Seth Christian is an anesthesiologist and pain management physician practicing in Pensacola, Fla.  Dr. Christian completed his undergraduate education at Mississippi State University where he earned his BS in Biomedical Engineering.  He received his MD from the University of Mississippi and completed his anesthesiology residency at Tulane University.  While at Tulane, he also completed a fellowship in Practice Management, received his MBA, and served as Clinical Assistant Professor, the Director of Quality, and the Director of the OR.  After this, Dr. Christian moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where he completed a fellowship in Pain Management at Stanford University.  

Dr. Christian is double board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Management, and is also board certified in basic Perioperative TEE.  He has sub specialty expertise in both acute and chronic pain management, and has extensive experience taking care of patients in the hospital setting providing a very broad range of anesthetics as well as in the outpatient setting providing pain management procedures and consultation.  Dr. Christian has an extensive understanding of the complexities of the biopsychosocial nature of chronic pain and the necessity to treat it with a multidisciplinary approach.  Dr. Christian also has a passion for improving the quality and delivery of healthcare through the use of process engineering methodologies and large clinical health outcome information registries.

He then went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and completed his residency in anesthesiology at Tulane University. 

While at Tulane, he also completed a fellowship in practice management, received his MBA, and served as Clinical Assistant Professor, Director of Quality, and Director of the OR. After this, Dr. Christian moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where he completed a fellowship in pain management at Stanford University.  

With years of experience, the doctor is board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). The ABA sets standards and exams for the accreditation of board-certified anesthesiologists coming to the end of their residency. It is one of the 24 medical specialty boards that constitutes the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Furthermore, he is board-certified in basic perioperative transesophageal echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography.

On a professional level, Dr. Christian is an active member of the North American Neuromodulation Society, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Florida Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Academy of Pain Medicine.

In affiliation with the American Heart Association, he holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery.
