Get to know General Surgeon Dr. Suzanne M. Gozdanovic, who serves patients in Florida.

Dr. Gozdanovic is a board-certified general surgeon with Tampa Bay Surgical Group in St. Petersburg, Florida. 

Dedicated to providing comprehensive, honest and compassionate care for her patients, her special interests include general surgery, breast surgery, robotic surgery, colorectal surgery, advanced laparoscopy, hernia repair, and complex abdominal wall reconstruction. 

Educated in the United States, Dr. Gozdanovic graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in 2003. She then went on to earn her medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, where she graduated as Secretary, Class of 2007 and Medical School Student Council President. 

Her internship and residency in general surgery were completed at Mount Carmel Health System in 2012, where she was Academic Chief Resident and awarded Intern of the Year.

An active member of the American Medical Association, the doctor is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Holding medical privileges, Dr. Gozdanovic is affiliated with the following hospitals and medical centers: HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital, Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, and St. Anthony’s Hospital.

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease. They follow the patient through critical care and surgical recovery all the way to outpatient care.

Outside of her clinical interests, Dr. Gozdanovic enjoys spending time with her family, running, swimming, boating, and fishing.
