Get to know Family Physician Dr. Ho Je Lee, who serves patients in California.

An established family physician, Dr. Lee founded Vitacare Medical Associates in 2011 with the intent to offer primary care medicine and non-surgical, long term, holistic healthcare to a diverse community. This philosophy has enabled him to sustainably grow and now be able to offer wellness options at the main office in Koreatown, Los Angeles, California.

From family medicine to nutrition, and beyond, Dr. Lee helps create pathways to optimal health for every individual. He treats the majority of health concerns from ages 18 and up with his focus on geriatric medicine.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Lee graduated with his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in 2006. He then went on to perform his residency in family medicine with Rutgers Health/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2009, followed by his fellowship in sports medicine (family medicine) at Barrow Neurological Institute at St Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in 2010.

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Spending his childhood in Seoul, Korea, Dr. Lee later immigrated to Los Angeles. His own experience of acclimating to a new country and culture enables a deeper empathy with his patients, many of whose backgrounds also bridge two worlds.

In addition, his love of sports drew him to specialize in non-surgical sports medicine, as he saw its therapeutic impact first-hand.

In the state of California, Dr. Lee is affiliated with PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital and Adventist Health Glendale.

On a more personal note, Dr. Lee is fluent in both English and Korean.
