She then completed her Neurology residency with the University of Illinois at Chicago where she was named Chief Resident and was a recipient of the Resident Fellowship Award. Furthering her training she completed her Clinical Neurophysiology and Electrodiagnostic Medicine Fellowship with the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Kavilaveettil holds over two decades of experience in her field. Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. It deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the central and peripheral nervous systems (and their subdivisions – the autonomic and somatic nervous systems), including their coverings, blood vessels, and all effector tissue, such as muscle.
