Dr. Fish is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon & shoulder, knee, and sports medicine specialist. He is in practice with Orthopaedic Specialists of Connecticut in Brookfield, Connecticut.
In his line of work, Dr. Fish offers complete orthopaedic and sports medicine care, including arthroscopy of the shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle and minimally invasive surgery. His services include management and treatment for sports injuries and sports trauma, non-surgical management of sports injuries, impingement and rotator cuff tears, bicep tears at the elbow and shoulder, loose bodies in the knee, shoulder, and ankle, children’s sports injuries, children’s growth plate injuries, shoulder instability and labral tears, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACL), knee meniscal resection and repair, lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), medial epicondylitis (golfer’s elbow), foot and ankle injuries, fracture care and rehabilitation, and correction of bunion and hammertoe deformities.
Among his other roles, Dr. Fish is an attending at Danbury Hospital (on the Executive Committee), Danbury Surgical Center (on the Medical Executive Committee and the Credentials Committee), and Carlos Otis Stratton Mountain Clinic. He also extends his expertise to medical students at the University of Vermont, serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, and serves as an Oral Examiner for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
A 1987 graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Dr. Fish completed an internship and five-year residency at the University of Michigan, where he covered the school’s Division I athletic teams. Subsequently, he performed his fellowship in sports medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Board certified in orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine, Dr. Fish is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
On a professional level, Dr. Fish is an active member of the Connecticut Orthopaedic Surgery, the Eastern Orthopaedic Association, the Carl Badgley Orthopaedic Society, the Connecticut State Medical Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (Fellow), the Fairfield County Medical Association, and the Danbury Medical Society.
His two-decade long experience includes working as an assistant team physician for the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins and evaluating athletes at the NFL Scouting Combine.
