Recognized as a caring and compassionate anesthesiologist, Dr. Bassili is affiliated with Sound Physicians which services over 400 hospitals in 45 states.
Sound is a physician-founded and led medical group that was founded in 2001. Their promise is to bring better to the bedside: better ideas, better approaches, better care. Their philosophy is to practice hospital-based medicine at the community level — with local teams, local leadership, and national support when we need it. After being initially hired to practice anesthesia at a Dallas-area hospital, Dr. Bassili was promoted to the role of Ambassador by Sound and works with hospitals around the country.
Educated in the United States, Dr. Bassili earned her medical degree from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in 2002. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in anesthesiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2003 and 2006, respectively.
As a testament of her continued education, she is board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.
In addition to her passion for practicing anesthesia, Dr. Bassili is passionate about helping people with mental health illnesses. To that end, she recently opened a Ketamine Infusion Clinic in Dallas, On the Mend Recovery, with an emphasis on treating military veterans and first responders. Ketamine is a medication that was first developed in the 1960s as an anesthetic for surgical procedures. In addition to its use as an anesthetic, ketamine has been found to have other potential medical applications: such as depression, PTSD, addiction and chronic pain.
