Is anxiety common with bipolar?
Thanks for reaching out. The prevalence of any anxiety disorder with bipolar disorder is about 38%. Anger can be a symptom of bipolar disorder also, which can mean your friend's bipolar disorder isn't well treated. They should talk to their provider about their medication and see if there is an adjustment that needs to be made and if anxiety is a separate diagnosis that needs to be treated. Good luck! READ MORE
How do you know when to stop antidepressants?
All situations are different, but it is generally recommended that you continue to take an antidepressant for 6 to 12 months after you feel completely better. Your provider can work with you to determine the right time to do this. You never want to stop the medication abruptly. You should gradually wean off the medication slowly to make sure your symptoms don't return and to make sure you don't have withdrawal symptoms. Make sure to talk to your provider about all of this in advance. Good luck! READ MORE
Query about a medicine that m taking
Thanks for reaching out. Your provider can give you more information about this. But Olimet an antipsychotic medication that contains olanzapine. It typically causes sedation, not insomnia. It can cause constipation, so it's important to make sure you are drinking enough water throughout the day. If you are diagnosed with schizophrenia, you will need to take the medication regularly, so if you are experiencing side effects, talk to your provider about this to see if a dose change or a medication change would be helpful. suffering from akathisia
Thanks for reaching out. Akathisia is a truly bothersome problem. Your provider should be able to discuss options with you to help. Beta blockers and benzodiazepines are usually starting points for treatment. If you haven't seen a neurologist or a movement disorders specialist, especially if these two options have been helpful, that would be my next suggestion. They could have additional recommendations to help you. You should talk to your provider about your ongoing struggles and see if they think a referral is appropriate. Good luck! READ MORE
