Dr. Berkowitz possesses over 25 years of experience, obtaining his MD from the Central University of Venezuela in 1990. He completed an internship at Montefiore Medical Center seven years later, and completed medical residences at Hospital for Special Surgery (1996), and Long Island Jewish Medical Center (2001), as well as a fellowship at St. Vincent Medical Center (2002). Dr. Berkowitz is Board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Berkowitz specializes in the treatment of sports-related injuries and trauma to the knees, shoulders, and ankles, as well as joint reconstruction. He utilizes the latest advancements in biologic medicine, including Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), administering over 300 life-changing injections.Dr. Berkowitz currently practices with Memorial Healthcare System, and is affiliated with Memorial Hospital Miramar and Memorial Hospital West Orthopaedic surgeons are devoted to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles.
