I work as a rheumatologist for Bon Secours Medical Group in Richmond, Virginia; I serve as a telemedicine consultant with Free State Health Care Telehealth. My philosophy in medical care is to seek the truth of the diagnosis and treat each patient individually. The extensive chart review I conduct for every patient furnishes me with the comprehensive knowledge necessary to be a powerful advocate. I completed my medical school training at the American University of Beirut then internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Kansas - Wichitia. I then completed my rheumatology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. I am board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. I am also certified by the American College of Rheumatology in Musculoskeletal ultrasound (RhMSUS).

RA and pregnancy
You will need to hold Methotrexate for at least 3 months. Depending on how active your RA is, you should discuss with your rheumatologist about hydroxychloroquine, which is safe in pregnancy and/or an anti-TNF like Cimzia, which is recognized as safe in pregnancy. Pregnancy may induce a state of remission in some patients as well. I would avoid prednisone due to risk for gestational diabetes. READ MORE
