A 1986 graduate of the Creighton University School of Medicine, Dr. Hagan went on to serve his residency at The University of Kansas School of Medicine–Wichita in 1991. Thereafter, he completed his fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison in 1992.
Following his education, he became board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons. He also earned membership status with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
Among his most notable achievements, Dr. Hagan is the recipient of Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014, 2016), On-Time Doctor Award (2015, 2016, 2018), and Patients’ Choice Award (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018).
When he is not seeing patients or instructing in orthopaedics, he pursues fitness and enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
