The name Artisan Aesthetics touches upon Dr. Castor’s feeling of being an artisan and crafting the body using his hands. His personal belief as a surgeon is to be a perfectionist who continues to strive for the best results for his patients, while keeping their safety, comfort, and well-being in mind at all times. All patients are unique with individual problem areas that need to be addressed. He tries to spend 45-60 minutes with new patient consultations and tailors surgery to what the patient wants and needs. Growing up in Zephyrhills, Florida, Dr. Castor graduated from Zephyrhills High School at the top of his class in 1982. He spent some time working as an orderly and patient care assistant after high school and became interested in medicine. He worked his way through college playing church music jobs. He attended Florida Southern College and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine - University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1992.
Thereafter, he completed a 5-year internship and residency in general surgery at Emory University Hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia. He continued his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery for 2 years at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition, he completed a prestigious fellowship in cosmetic surgery with world-renowned plastic surgeons, Drs. Baker, Stuzin, and Baker in Miami, Florida. This specific fellowship is only offered to two plastic surgeons per year.
Among the doctor’s impressive list of academic and professional achievements, he is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, whose mission is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, as well as a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Tampa Bay Society of Plastic Surgeons.

A native Floridian, Dr. Castor is married with three children. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family by the pool, at the beach, riding dirt bikes, and hiking in the mountains. He is also an accomplished musician and plays the keyboard in a worship band at the Vine Contemporary Service of First Presbyterian Church, Lakeland.
