Dr. Sagoskin is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist & reputable reproductive endocrinologist and infertility expert. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of the Shady Grove Fertility Center in Rockville, Maryland, which he established in 1990 alongside Dr. Michael Levy. He has extensive expertise in reproductive endocrinology, including in in-vitro fertilization, infertility, and operative laparoscopy.
When co-founders Dr. Michael J. Levy and Dr. Arthur W. Sagoskin established Shady Grove Fertility more than 30 years ago, they had no idea that the practice would rise to national and international prominence as a Center of Excellence in the field of reproductive medicine, IVF, and infertility. The goal of the practice is to provide cutting-edge fertility care in an environment that supports patients’ physical, emotional, and financial needs—and to make future business and clinical decisions based on what is in the best interest of the patients.
In his professional experience, he is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He maintains hospital privileges at several local hospitals, including MedStar Health, and is licensed to practice in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
Academically, Dr. Sagoskin attended MCP Hahnemann University School of Medicine, now Drexel University College of Medicine, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and received his medical degree in 1978. He then completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Allentown Affiliated Hospital-Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Pennsylvania (1978-1982). For his undergraduate education, he went to Temple University and acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1974.
Following the completion of his formal training, the doctor attained board certification in obstetrics and gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), Dr. Sagoskin is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology, and the Society of Reproductive Surgeons.
