Recognized as a leader and expert in the field of gastroenterology, Dr. Shah is affiliated with the Greenbelt Endoscopy Center in Lanham, Maryland. He has a special interest in biliary endoscopy and is committed to providing exceptional evaluation, diagnosis and treatment options of a variety of digestive disease conditions.

Greenbelt Endoscopy Center was established in 1996 by eight well-respected gastroenterologists who devoted their profession to serving the community. The center quickly grew into a top tier freestanding ambulatory surgical center under an experienced team of both providers and staff. The center is accredited by both AAAASF and CMS on a yearly basis.

Academically, he graduated in 1972 from the Government Medical College in Srinagar Kashmir, India. Relocating to the United States, he performed his residency in general surgery at Providence Hospital, and his residency in internal medicine at Prince George’s Hospital Center. Finally, he did his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Georgetown University Medical Center and at D.C. General Hospital.

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in gastroenterology and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Maintaining a patient first philosophy, Dr. Shah has been recognized as one of the best gastroenterologists in the community. He is very active in his community and hospital facilities, and is an expert among physicians in performing ERCP and extracting the gallstones stuck in most common and hepatic ducts. He is also known for locating and removing most difficult polyps from the colon.
