With areas of expertise in pediatric emergency and trauma care, Dr. Florez is a board-certified emergency physician with Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Florida. 

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is a 158-bed pediatric hospital that offers award-winning pediatric specialty care and Central Florida’s only pediatric Level One Trauma Center and ER. It is part of Orlando Health and is supported by the Arnold Palmer Medical Center Foundation. The hospital’s mission is to ensure children’s health and well-being. 

As for his academic appointment, Dr. Florez serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics / Emergency Medicine at the Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, the doctor is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, which is a not-for-profit organization that certifies emergency physicians who meet its educational, professional, and examination standards.

Back in 1986, Dr. Florez earned his medical degree from the Nueva Granada Military University in Bogotá, Colombia. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to complete his residency in emergency medicine at Orlando Regional Medical Center before embarking on his professional journey.
