Get to know Optometrist Dr. Jeffrey A. Davisson, who serves patients in Vandalia, Ohio.

Dr. Davisson is an optometrist who practices full-scope optometry with a special interest in contact lenses, treatment and management of ocular disease, and co-management of laser vision correction. He is currently serving patients at Vandalia Optometry, LLC in Vandalia, Ohio. Old-time care and professionalism coupled with the latest equipment is the only way to describe the Vandalia Optometry difference. “At Vandalia Optometry, you will average 15 to 20 minutes more with an eye doctor per visit and we would not have it any other way. With our over 100 years of collective optical experience, we pride ourselves in our responsibility in making sure that our patients needs are met properly” as stated on the practice’s website. 

In addition to private practice, Dr. Davisson served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the Dayton VA Medical Center for the Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio State University Colleges of Optometry for 17 years.

Dr. Davisson is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry.

Dr. Davisson has served as Secretary, Lieutenant Governor, and Governor of Zone 9 of the Ohio Optometric Association. He has also served on the Ohio Optometric Association’s Awards Committee and New Technologies Committee. Furthermore, he has been a member of the American Optometric Association’s Contact Lens Section.

Dr. Davisson is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, the Ohio Optometric Association, the Vandalia Chamber of Commerce, and the National Youth Sports Coaches Association.

Optometry is a health care profession that involves examining the eyes and applicable visual systems for defects or abnormalities as well as the medical diagnosis and management of eye disease. Optometrists typically do the following: perform vision tests and analyze results; diagnose sight problems and eye diseases; as well as prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications. They often work closely with ophthalmologists who may need to further treat patients with surgical procedures.
